How are you? I hope this finds you well and happy. It's been a while since I've written but there's been lots happening here at Wiggley as well as in the valley, so I thought I'd send you a quick newsletter to see how you're all doing and tell you all our news.
Ziggy, Polly & Teddy are all extremely well and can't wait to see you soon. They are at their happiest when people come to stay, as they love to give you a warm welcome and nudge you for a pat or a play.
There's something so special about crisp wintery mornings with mist hanging low here in the Yarra Valley. And guests, both four-legged and two, are loving cozying up to the wood-burning stove in the cottage and the gas fire in the apartment.

WHAT'S NEW at WIGGLEY SINCE YOUR LAST VISIT?
You'll find a selection of gumboots in varying sizes at your accommodation, so you can fully enjoy your stay whatever the weather (and jump in puddles and go for walks in the paddocks and STILL have toasty dry feet). Not everyone travels with or even owns a pair of boots, and when I realised that guests were missing out - I thought the obvious thing was to provide them really!
WHAT'S NEW in the VALLEY SINCE YOUR LAST VISIT?
The town of Healesville has a well-earned reputation for being a foodie's heaven, so the arrival of a gorgeous spice shop Gewürzhaus is the perfect addition (and just a short drive from Wiggley). Your nose will soon lead you there on the main street as they sell spices, rubs, salt, teas, confectionary, and homewares for your table & cooking needs. Sisters Eva and Maria Konecsny opened the first Gewürzhaus in Lygon St, Carlton in 2010, and Healesville is their 10th store.
And literally over the road, whiskey lovers can excite their taste buds with a 'wee dram' at Cavanagh's whiskey bar with its floating timber floorboards, a bar made of upcycled railway sleepers from the old Healesville Station, and classy LED backlights showcasing the spirits on offer. Owner Brendan has curated a mix of whiskeys, roughly one-third from Australia, one-third from Scotland, and the rest from around the world.
And have you heard about St Hubert's Estate? You would have passed it on the way to Wiggley if you were coming from Melbourne along the Maroondah Highway - the cellar door has been built into a mole-like mound with a wine shop called Notes and a basement-level gallery space featuring indigenous artists from Victoria and beyond.
Quarters restaurant at Hubert Estate is a fast-casual dining venue with a high-quality menu. Expect pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, and of course an extensive wine list.
If homewares are more your thing, you're going to LOVE Healesville's newest retail outlet - the Linen House! It's fitted out so beautifully and the staff are super-friendly linen lovers and homeware enthusiasts. And you simply won’t find prices like it anywhere else; last season's designs, unique off-the-rack samples, quilt cover sets, sheets, towels, quilts, pillows, kids, décor, dining - you'll be so glad you popped in!
