Dogs on a Wine Tours

Many of you who have stayed with us at Wiggley before will have been on a doggy wine tour with me in the ute or with a local tour operator - well finally some great friends of ours have set up Pooches and Pinot - the Yarra Valley's official and only pet-friendly private wine tour company and we can't recommend them highly enough.

Some of you will have toured with Jeff before - he's a well known local personality, with many strings to his bow. Not only is he a phenomenal chef, a singer songwriter and has written a terrific theatre show DYLANesque celebrating the music of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks.

And now he's the owner of & Top Dog at Pooches & Pinot. All their staff and tour guides are local dog owners so you know you're in good hands.

You have to check them out - they are perfect if you bring your dog to stay at Wiggley, as they will do a fantastic tour for you WITH your dog, so no-one has to be put into kennels or be left on their own back at the farm for the day.

They know all the best pet-friendly cellar doors to take you to so you can try as many of the Yarra Valley's finest wines, and not have to worry about driving (always a good idea).

And when it comes to lunch, they can offer you a selection of pet-friendly options - whether you want a winery lunch or a a share platter with a view, wood fired pizza or a cafe option - they'll help you work out a great itinerary. If you only have a few hours - not a problem, they will do a half day tour for you too.

Your hound gets to travel in style in the Mercedes and while you're busy tasting wine, your very own tour guide / doggy handler will be with your pooch, on a lead, enjoying a wander around sniffing out all the new and exciting smells! So everyone is happy.
