Love Special Occasions at Wiggley Bottom Farm

I don't know about you but I love planning special occasions which involve four legged friends, and it's probably my love of such things which made me so keen for Wiggley Bottom Farm to be part of a new wedding planning company Little Weddings Yarra Valley. I'm so looking forward to hosting gorgeous boutique weddings here in the Yarra Valley because we have such magical views and stunning surroundings that make the perfect backdrop for a small personal wedding.

I was thrilled when I was asked by a gorgeous regular Wiggley guest, Nick, to help him plan a surprise engagement for his partner Audette when they came to stay just before Christmas. He wanted their two beautiful German Shepherds to be very much involved in the moment. I loved being in on the planning and of course I had the most ideal spot in mind.

And so we plotted and liaised and on the day of their arrival they checked in to their apartment here on the farm while I, unbeknown to them, laid out the picnic rug, with vases of bright flowers, glasses for a toast, cushions to lean on and a delicious picnic basket of local produce supplied by K&B in Healesville and the best part, Netti the photographer from Photographing Love was hiding nearby, all set up ready to capture their special moment.

Will you marry me?

To ensure they played a central part in the proceedings, we attached sweet signs to the dogs that read 'Will you' and 'Marry ou Dad'. Nick led Audette out to the garden in a blindfold where everything was set up and waiting for them and Netti captured the exact moment of the proposal.

She said yes

It all went according to plan - Audette couldn't have been happier and neither could we - the dogs played their part beautifully and a small photoshoot full of love followed where the group posed happily in the grounds of Wiggley Bottom Farm.

Engagement Lunch Catered for at Wiggley Bottom Farm

We don't do things by half here at Wiggley, so when Nick suggested we organise a surprise celebratory lunch I was happy to oblige. Our very talented chef Marc prepared a beautiful four-course meal with matching wines supplied by Maddens Rise for Nick and Audette's immediate family, which we served on the deck. A great day was had by all.
